The Outstanding Health Occupations Teacher of the Year Award is to recognize health occupations teachers who are providing outstanding technical programs for youths and/or adults.
Recipients of the award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote vocational education.
To be eligible the teacher must be currently employed as a full-time instructor in a health occupations education program other than at the baccalaureate level for a minimum of five years.
They must also be a member of the Health Occupations Education Division of WV ACTE for a minimum of one year and be active in civic and community activities.
Outstanding New Health Occupations Teacher of the Year Award is to encourage new teachers to remain in the teaching profession.
Recipients of the award must have made significant contributions toward innovative, unique and novel programs that are serving to improve and promote vocational education.
A teacher is eligible if they are currently employed as a fullt-time classroom instructor in a health occupations education program for a minimum of three years but not more than five years.
They must also be a member of the Health Occupations Education Division of WV ACTE for a minimum of one year and be active in civic and community activities.
